The additional plaque was donated by the Invalidenfriedhof Cemetery Association and was inaugurated on 12th June 2004.
Its inscription reads: “Colonel of the Luftwaffe, Member of the German Military Resistance against Hitler. Arrested on 12th June 1944 and shot by the Gestapo.” Wilhelm Staehle was murdered by the Nazis on 23rd April 1945 in his cell at Lehrter Street Prison.
