The historic cemetery wall which runs parallel to the Spandau Shipping Canal was restored from 1996 – 2002 with funds provided by the Commissioner of the Federal Government for Culture and Media for the maintenance and restoration of immovable cultural monuments of national significance.
The Board of Advisors of the Invalids’ Cemetery Association erected commemorative plaques along the Spandau Shipping Canal in 1995 in agreement with the Berlin Monument Authority in memory of the following:

49 PRUSSIAN, 32 AUSTRIAN AND 3 SAXONIAN SOLDIERS
BURIED HERE WHO DIED
FROM INJURIES INCURRED DURING THE WAR OF 1866
IN COMMEMORATION OF THE MEMBERS OF THE RESISTANCE OF THE 20TH JULY PLOT 1944 INTERRED HERE
DEDICATED TO THE VICTIMS OF THE AERIEL ATTACKS ON BERLIN 1940-1945
TO THOSE CIVILIAN AND SOLDIERS WHO WERE BURIED HERE IN MASS GRAVES AT THE END OF THE WAR IN 1945
