The tomb of General Field Marshall Hermann von Boyen, “Honour Grave of the City of Berlin”, was restored to its former splendour between 1995 and 2003 thanks to funds from the German Class Lottery Foundation Berlin, the Berlin Monument Authority and the Invalids’ Cemetery Association.
The columns and two Victoria figures were recreated by the renowned Berlin sculptor Harald Haacke who died in 2004.
The presentation of the fully restored grave took place on the occasion of the annual meeting of the Invalids’ Cemetery Association on 28th June 2003 with over 100 guests and members from Germany and abroad present.
